Meet the new members of the team!
Chief Executive Officer: Clarice Ramsden

Clarice plays the ukulele and ukulele-banjo, performing at festivals up and down the country, and is “Official Awesomeness Ambassador”, part of the team that brings you the Grand Northern Ukulele Festival. Clarice is passionate about music, and the promotion of the Ukulele. As CEO Clarice wishes to use her contacts within the wider ukulele community to build on the work of the society, and reintroduce tuition aspects to our meetings.

Clarice is a Tessie O’Shea fan, and has a collection of her artefacts, including stage clothing, photographs, a suitcase and her Stromberg Voisinette. When not playing, Clarice comes from an education background, and is Senior Management at a Pupil Referral Unit in Halifax with pupils who are, or who are at risk of permanent exclusion.
General Secretary/Webmaster: Lorna Johns

Lorna has played since she was a child and when her children left home, after a 35 year gap, she re-engaged with the Ukulele. Like many she learned on a little wooden ukulele but her passion remains with the Ukulele Banjo and her pride and joy is her 'Wendell Hall' which she admits isn’t brought out of the case often enough!

Lorna currently works as a Business Development Manager for a GP Partnership. In a previous life Lorna worked as Community Tutor and as a Community Enterprise Manager so she hopes to draw upon skills and knowledge gained in these roles to benefit the Ukulele Society of Great Britain.

Publicity Officer: Andy Eastwood

Andy is a talented multi-instrumentalist who performs all over the world in a high-energy upbeat act. His specialities are ukulele, ukulele-banjo, violin and guitar; and he has won the acclaim of the public and critics alike. He is a star of theatre, cabaret, radio and television, and is bringing Variety entertainment into the 21st century. Andy is also passionate about the society, a member since 1991, and looks forward to joining us at Digswell when his busy diary allows.

Andy has recently been inducted into the 'Grand Order of Water Rats', a true accolade. He runs the very successful Ukulele Market Web page, and never stops touring Festivals, and Theatres, including “The Good Old Days" at Leeds and his War Time revue's and Pantomimes nationally, see his website for further details.
